History

Acclaimed local mural artist, Gerri O'Brien, recreated a portion of Paso Robles in the mid 50's with her rendition of "Wilson's Drive-In," prior to it being destroyed by fire in the late 1970's. It was a popular local destination for the younger crowd. Wilson's was rebuilt and has served the Paso Robles community for many years as an excellent family restaurant across the street from its original location in Paso Robles. While it had an excellent reputation and a good run, the restaurant eventually closed in 2013.

Most of the vehicles (and aircraft) seen in these murals are, have been, or will be shown on display in the museum. You will find several other murals from Gerri O'Brien in both the Freedom Hall, the Brooks Building and Woodland Auto Display.

Thank You Gerri O'Brien for the excellent work!
