The Brommes were well known in sprint car racing for building their own beautiful and highly competitive Sprint Cars. This #2 Sprint Car was campaigned in 2004 and 2005 by the Brommes with their talented driver, Dean Thomspson. They continued to amass snumerous fast times, trophy dash wins as well as heat race and main event wins. During this same period, they also began constructing cars to sell to other teams.
Bruce Sr. and Jr. continued racing together for several more years but after this car, they began to purchase cars built by varius Sprint Car manufacturers such as Nance and Gambler.
Over the course of the father/son duo, they amassed over 140 main event wins with CRA (California Racing Association), and SCRA (Sprint Car Racing Association). Long time friend and driver, Dean Thompson, accounted for over 100 of those feature wins.
This car was meticulously restored in 2018 by recently retired Sprint Car Champion, Jon Stanbrough. Jon ran some exhibition laps at Perris, CA during the 2018 Oval Nationals which was quite impressive.
