Quarter Midget Race Car
Quarter Midget Race Car

History

Many racing drivers received their competitive racing starts in go-carts and ¼ midgets. This was considered a stepping stone as many of the popular So. Calif, racing stars progressed to TQ's, ¾ midgets, and from there to Full Midgets, Sprint Cars, and even indy Cars.

Some of the recognizable names who started their careers in these cars, and competed with each other for manv years from childhood through their adult lives, included such stars as Dean Thompson, Rick Goudy, Bobby Olivero and Mike Shaw to name just a few.

Mike's #32v is a perfect example of the ¼ Midgets of the 1950's thru 1960's era as the car has been stored by the family for over 50 years, just as it came off the track. (Also, see Mike Shaw's #97 Maxwell Sprint Car which is also on display.)
